Meet our Tutors

Dhivahar Sri Ranjan

My Name is Dhivahar Sri Ranjan (Dhiv Sri) and I tutor Maths Foundation and Maths Intermediate at PUC.  In addition, I run a private tutoring business and am currently a Science teacher and Year 11 Coordinator at Karratha Senior High School.  What I love about teaching is that there are multiple ways you can improve on your lessons that could been taught better and it’s a joy to impart and deliver knowledge to the community.  My teaching philosophy is to deliver engaging and meaningful lessons that are relevant to life and giving students essential skills required in today’s work environment.

My academic qualifications are a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Biomedical Science, Masters in Business Administration and Graduate Diploma of Education.

Dr. Jacinta Homann

Hello!

I’m Jacinta, also known as ‘Dr. Jacs’ (for my PhD in marketing – not medical skills!).  At the PUC, I provide academic, administrative and pastoral support to all students.  I tutor units in the CQUni STEPS bridging programme focused on preparation skills for university and essay writing, I support students studying at Curtin University undertaking the UniReady enabling programme, and our Master of Education students.   In my classes, I like to include a range of activities, giving students an opportunity to explore and consolidate learning in the ways that they find most engaging.

Study is an adventure and it’s wonderful to share in a students journey with them.

Jacinta Wright

Hello, my name is Jacinta. I am a 6th year trained teacher who is currently tutoring Maths through the Pilbara University Centre. Outside of work I love everything ocean based, following the sun, travelling, reading and getting outdoors to explore and exercise as often as possible. I love Maths because it is black and white, right or wrong.

I enjoy the routine and lifestyle I have been fortunate enough to create around my teaching career, the classroom interactions and relationships I get to build with all my students each day and the ongoing expanding of my own knowledge of Mathematics. My teaching methods have strong kinaesthetic and visual focuses and those I have taught know that I also love a good interactive PowerPoint (not death by though)!

I look forward to meeting you and working with you in person

Takeia Beard

Hi, I’m Tiki and I live in Port Hedland.  I often think I was born to be a teacher because I love it so much.  I enjoy working with students and seeing them thrive in different learning environments.  I have worked in both primary and high school classrooms for the last 7 years, as well as teaching TAFE courses and mentoring graduate teachers.

I’m so excited to join students in Port Hedland and support them on their pursuit of higher education.  As a mum to 3 young children, I understand the pressure that life has on our studies and have some interesting hacks to get through the process as efficiently and effectively as possible.
