2024 Scholarships

Scholarships are an important part of the Pilbara Kimberley University Centres commitment to rewarding academic excellence, supporting research, and enabling students from all backgrounds to realise their potential.

You must be a residing in the Pilbara and Kimberley and be a registered PKUC student to be eligible to apply. If you are not registered with us, please complete the enrollment form PKUC Student Registration Form and submit with your application.

PKUC Nursing Travel Bursary

Bachelor of Nursing students are often required to attend compulsory residential schools as part of their nursing studies. The PKUC facilitates and delivers several nursing residential schools in Port Hedland, WA, for students registered with us and studying the Bachelor of Nursing with CQUniversity.

The costs associated with attending compulsory nursing residential schools can be financially challenging for students, especially those in regional areas required to travel long distances to attend. The PKUC Nursing Travel Bursary is designed to assist with these costs. This $500 travel bursary is non-competitive and open to students registered with the PKUC, studying a Bachelor of Nursing with CQUniversity, and required to travel to attend a PKUC facilitated compulsory residential school in Port Hedland.

Eligible students will be invited to apply prior to the commencement of the relevant nursing residential school. For more information, please see the PKUC Nursing Bursary Terms and Conditions

2024 Kimberley & Pilbara Resident Student Scholarships

Red Hawk Scholarships

Red Hawk Mining provides $500 to support a student studying a university program supported by the PKUC.

Hon. Melissa Price, Member for Durack Pilbara & Kimberley Equity Scholarships

The Hon. Melissa Price provides 3 x $500 scholarships to support Pilbara or Kimberley resident students studying at university. One scholarship will be awarded to a student enrolled in a university enabling/ bridging course programme, one scholarship will be awarded to a mature aged student (over the age of 25) and one scholarship will be awarded to a student studying CQUniversity’s Bachelor of Nursing program supported by the PKUC.

2024 Pilbara Resident Student Scholarships

Woodside Energy and Joint Venture Partner Engineering Bursary

Woodside Energy and Joint Venture Partners provides $5,000 to support a Pilbara resident student studying CQUnversity’s Bachelor of Engineering or Associate Degree of Engineering program supported by the PKUC.

Nickol Bay Fertiliser Co Pty Ltd Equity Scholarships

Nickol Bay Fertiliser provides $500 to support Pilbara resident students studying at one of the PKUC’s 2024 partner universities (CQUniversity, Curtin University, Edith Cowan University, Charles Darwin University and University of Tasmania).

Yaandina Community Service Allied Health / Nursing Pilbara Scholarship

Yaandina Community Service provides $1,000 to support students registered with PKUC residing in the Pilbara who are undertaking studies in the field of Allied Health or Nursing.

Karratha Eyecare Health / Science Scholarship

Karratha Eyecare provides $2,500 to support a student registered with PKUC residing in the Pilbara who is undertaking studies in the field of Health or Science.

BCI Minerals provides $1,000 to support students registered with PKUC residing in the City of Karratha who have left secondary school within the last 24 months.

Broome International Airport Scholarship for Science and Technology

Broome International Airport provides $1,000 to support students registered with PKUC residing in the Kimberley who are undertaking studies in the field of Science and/or Technology.
